AYSO Plus Program

AYSO Region 425 is excited to announce our new AYSO “Plus” Program for players who want to enhance their level of play and have the opportunity to play soccer in venues outside their regular season games.  This program is an AYSO ACADEMY PROGRAM and is run by our AYSO Academy Trainers who have an extensive knowledge base and experience training players for soccer tournaments and travel play.  This program is ONLY for players registered for the AYSO Fall 2009/Spring 2010 Season. Participation in this program is not intended to replace or interfere with our regular season games.  This program is however designed to give our players the advantage of experiencing soccer at a higher level of play with travel games and tournaments and advanced expert instruction without the cost and time commitment normally involved with club soccer.

The basic AYSO “Plus” Program is a 2 hour practice/week held on Mondays from 4:30-6:30 pm at Corwin Park with our AYSO Academy Staff. Practices will include intensive skill development, speed, agility and endurance training and field instruction to develop ‘smart’ players. These training sessions will run for 6 weeks beginning Monday, September 14th.  The cost of our program is $75 for 6 weeks which will include a practice t-shirt. We will have an orientation and player evaluation on Friday, September 4th from 4:30 to 6:00 at Corwin Park. Regular practices will begin on Monday, September 14th.  Season Dates: Friday, Sept 4th (orientation), Practices Begin Monday, Sept 14th, 21st, 28th (no practice-Yom Kippur),Oct 5th, 12th, 19th,  26th,  (AYSO ‘Plus’ Player ‘post season‘-Evaluation conference)                            

The AYSO “Plus” Program will also offer registered players the opportunity to participate in Tournaments run by the Illinois Youth Soccer League, Travel Games with local soccer clubs and AYSO Regions.  Most of these games will be scheduled during the week (Mondays and Tuesdays will be our primary game day) or on weekends coordinating the age group and their regular season weekend game.  Tournaments will take place on weekends. Participation in these venues is dependant on the interest of the players registered for our program and the number of participants we have in each age group. Participants in the AYSO “Plus” Program may choose to only take advantage of the basic training during the week and not participate in the game and tournament opportunities. There is no additional cost for participation in tournaments and travel games.  AYSO welcomes volunteer coaches to coach their child’s team or to work with our staff in coaching the teams we send to tournaments and travel games.

  There will be a MANDATORY Parents Meeting on Tuesday, Sept 1st  at 7:30 PM at the Takiff Center in Glencoe for registered players.  We will give parents a detailed overview of the program, meet our staff and have a calendar of games and tournaments planned for the Fall 2009 Season. We will not accept players unless 1 parent/guardian can attend this meeting or if previous arrangements have been made.
